The Know Thy Heritage (KTH) Chapter in Chile officially launched its activities with a gathering at the Palestino Club, bringing together over 22 KTH alumni and their friends who are interested in joining the chapter and learning more about KTH’s mission and goals. The alumni, representing a participant from 2011 to 2023, share the unique experience of having visited their homeland, Palestine.

KTH is a leadership initiative for young Palestinian diaspora dedicated to exploring and serving Palestine. Its primary mission is to empower the Palestinian diaspora by deepening their understanding and appreciation of Palestinian identity, culture, history, and traditions. With over 450 alumni from more than 25 countries across five continents, KTH continues to strengthen connections within the global Palestinian community.

The inaugural event provided a valuable opportunity for alumni from different generations to connect, forge new bonds, and reaffirm their commitment to Palestine. Attendees shared their KTH experiences, discussed their goals and next steps, and formed working committees to help achieve those objectives. The event was both enriching and enjoyable, with participants engaging in meaningful discussions and friendly interactions.

Sir Rateb Rabie, the President and CEO of KTH, addressed the participants virtually from Washington, D.C., expressing his gratitude for their efforts in pioneering a new approach to advocating for Palestine. He also extended his thanks to the Chapter co-chairs, Carolina Abara and Carlos Carmi, for organizing the event, along with Omar Salame, KTH’s Programs and Communications Manager, and Sohad Saras, who collaborates with the KTH head office globally. He went on to highlight that KTH is advancing to a new level by establishing Chapters in various countries and states, engaging alumni, and encouraging the diaspora of all ages to participate in the Chapters and their activities to advocate and serve Palestine.

KTH alumni and members of the Palestinian diaspora, with expertise in law, finance, engineering, design, communications, healthcare, and other fields, are uniquely positioned to advance our mission. By collaborating and pooling their diverse skills and knowledge, they aim to create a positive impact, driving progress and enhancing the well-being of Palestine and the global diaspora. Working collectively and complementing each other’s strengths, they seek to make a meaningful difference for the Palestinian communities globally.
