The Know Thy Heritage (KTH) Leadership Program was founded in 2011 under the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF), a 501c3 non-profit organization. In 2017, building on KTH’s success, the program transitioned into a standalone organization (Know Thy Heritage, INC.), working to make the Palestinian birthright a reality not only in spirit, but also on-the-ground. Since its founding, KTH has grown into a global movement, connecting Palestinian youth in the diaspora to their shared homeland and to one another, building a network of advocates who are working collaboratively for the unification of Palestinians everywhere.

To date, KTH boasts a network of over 300 alumni from 20 countries and 5 continents, including: Australia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, El Salvador, France, Guatemala, Honduras, Italy, Jordan, Nicaragua, Qatar, Spain, and the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States. And these numbers are growing every year.

A decade ago, the idea of reconnecting with our diaspora was nothing more than an elusive dream. Today, we are seeing more diaspora involvement in the homeland than ever before. KTH has been instrumental in this effort. The Palestinian Diaspora has been referred to by many as a sleeping giant; through the collective effort of Palestinian communities around the world, KTH Inc. seeks to awaken this giant and encourage it to take its rightful place as a key partner in the development of Palestine. In spite of the many challenges we face as Palestinians, both at home and abroad, KTH’s new incarnation is proof of its commitment to producing bold Ambassadors of Peace and Justice for years to come.
