In a heartwarming evening that celebrated creativity, solidarity, and generosity, Know Thy Heritage (KTH) and Buteekh hosted an unforgettable Open Mic Night to rally support for Gaza.

On November 14th, we gathered at Three Whistles Cafe for an incredible Open Mic Night hosted by KTH and Buteekh, where community, creativity, and compassion came together in support of Gaza.

A highlight of the evening was the special recognition of Mahmoud Sarhan, founder of Buteekh. KTH Founder Sir Rateb Rabie presented him with the prestigious Key to Palestine, honoring his unwavering dedication to the Palestinian cause. The night also featured an inspiring address by Bethany Saad from KTH’s alumni, who shared exciting details about the 2025 KTH Delegation and encouraged attendees to join this transformative journey.

The event brought together over 70 attendees, blending community spirit with artistic expression to uplift the Palestinian cause. From traditional oud performances to powerful spoken word and local bands, the stage came alive with over 15 performers showcasing their talent and passion. This extraordinary display of art and culture embodied the resilience and unity of the Palestinian spirit.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the community, we raised over $3,000, which will provide meals to families in Gaza facing unimaginable hardships. Your support is a lifeline to those in need, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed.

We’re thrilled to announce that this event will now become a quarterly tradition, offering more opportunities to connect, share, and make an impact. Stay tuned for future events and don’t forget to apply for KTH’s 2025 delegation!
